200th Anniversary of the publication of Frankenstein (The Modern Day Prometheus). With the Great Hall candlelit, local actress Sarra Kasraoui assumes the role of Mary Shelley, as she reads from her iconic novel. Open 7pm for a 7.30 start. Refreshments provided. TICKETS priced at £3 per person (Free for Friends of the Castle).

Part of the celebrations marking 1,100 years since the death of Æthelflæd, Lady of the Mercians, Dr Sara Read chairs a panel examining AEthelflaed the woman, along with Dr Jennifer Evans, Annie Whitehead, and Marianne Whiting. All published authors and women who know about the history of women.
Ticket price of £10 includes a buffet lunch.

Martin Carver, Professor emeritus, Department of Archaeology, University of York helps mark 1,100 years since the death of AEthelflaed – Tickets £7.50. Tickets from the original date of March 2nd will be valid. Now a joint event with Friends of Tamworth Castle. All ‘Friends’ can come along for free as can any who join on the night – membership for an individual is just £12 with numerous benefits including free entry to Tamworth Castle.
